
Dr. Cambria Melkus, formerly Dr. McCabe, attended St. Edward’s University in Austin, Texas, graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with minors in Biology and Chemistry. She was accepted into St. Matthew’s University School of Veterinary Medicine in Grand Cayman Island, where she excelled in her veterinary medical studies. In 2014, she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) after completing the final year of clinical rotations at Oklahoma State University, College of Veterinary Medicine in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Having achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian, Dr. Melkus moved back home to Dallas where she embarked on her career focusing mainly on Companion Animal Medicine- General Practice. She also is proud to “always be learning” and being open to a variety of therapeutic treatments for all manner of illnesses and injuries, including both traditional “Western” medicine, as well as having an appreciation and understanding for use of more holistic approaches when warranted for certain cases.
Dr. Melkus lives in Dallas with her husband, Justin, their three children, and their Great Pyrenees, Big Buddy.
