When possible, you should schedule your appointment 24 hours or more in advance for pets over 40 pounds.

How much does in-home pet euthanasia cost?

Cost is variable according to your location, but a summary of service costs can be confirmed when you schedule your appointment online on the BetterVet app. Please visit our pricing page for more information. 

Which payment methods are accepted?

We accept all major credit cards and debit cards. We are unable to accept cash, checks, or Scratchpay. A credit card is required to book your appointment but will not be billed until the end of your home visit.

How long is the dog & cat euthanasia process?

A pet euthanasia appointment typically lasts approximately 20 - 45 minutes, which allows us to go forward at your pace.

Can I stay with my pet during the euthanasia procedure?

Yes, we encourage you as well as other family members to stay with your pet during the in-home euthanasia process. Your veterinarian will let you know what to expect during the entire procedure and will make sure you feel comfortable moving forward with each step.

How is medication given to larger pets?

The same medications are given to all pets during the euthanasia process and are tailored to your pet’s size and needs.

Are aftercare services included in the home pet euthanasia price?

Aftercare services can be provided at an additional cost and is based on your personal preferences for cremation.

How do I go about making cremation arrangements for my pet?

We will take care of the aftercare arrangements for your pet if you choose that option.

How can I ensure my pet’s ashes are returned after euthanasia?

We work with partner facilities that share our love and respect for pets and have sophisticated tracking systems that assure the return of your pets remains.
