Dr. Dawn Filos has been practicing small animal medicine since 1992. She has been a house call veterinarian for 7 years. Dr Dawn, as she is called, has a Biochemistry degree from Rutgers University, a Master’s degree in Renal Physiology from the University of Georgia, and a veterinary doctorate from the University of Pennsylvania.
She has a special interest in internal medicine, hospice and palliative care, and client education. Her experience teaching pet first aid and CPR extends to her blog, which is both informative and entertaining, and focuses on the physical and psychological benefits of life with pets. She also is a contributor to the Philadelphia Inquirer. Hopefully her upcoming book, Tales of a House Call Vet, will be on the shelves soon.
She enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dog, oil and pastel painting, biking and spending time at the beach.
