In this guide you’ll find the necessary steps to book an Appointment with BetterVet:
- On the BetterVet portal you’ll find the ‘Schedule Appointment’ button, click on it:
- Afterwards, you’ll be redirected to the Booking section, where you are able to ‘Enter your zip code’ and then hit on ‘Next’:
If you already have an existing account, you can press ‘Log in’ to skip some steps further down the line.
Appointment types
- In this section, you’ll find out how to set up each of the three appointment types available on BetterVet. These appointment types are ‘Speak with a Veterinarian’ ‘Book a Home Visit’ and ‘Schedule for Today!’:
Speak with a Veterinarian
This appointment type lets you schedule a video consultation with a vet. You can find the steps to set it up here:
1. Add Your Pets
You’ll be able to book a video consultation with a veterinarian here. To this end, please add your pet’s data on the following form, then click on ‘Next’:
If you logged in and added your pet previously, you’ll be able to skip this step.
2. Reason for the Appointment
Now you would need to fill out the reason for the appointment in the following text field. After this is done, click on ‘Next’:
3. Select Date and Time
You’ll now be prompted to select a date and time for the appointment, click on ‘Next’ afterwards:
4. Contact Details
Next up, you’d need to fill out your ‘Contact Details’, then click on ‘Next’:
If you logged in and added your contact details previously, you’ll be able to skip this step.
5. Review Details
If you have logged in previously, you can skip to ‘Book Appointment’. Otherwise, you would need to click on ‘Add Payment Method’ like so:
In the ‘Add New Payment Method’ section, you would need to enter a valid card number, it’s expiration date and CVC, then click on ‘Save Card’:
6. Book Appointment
Now that you have filled out the ‘Payment Details’ you are now able to press ‘Book Appointment’:
7. Medical Records
As a last step during the booking process, you would need to fill out any previous medical records here, then click on ‘Save’:
8. Video Consultation Details
The Video Consultation appointment has now been booked:
Book a Home Visit
This appointment type lets you schedule a pet exam at home . You can find the steps to set it up here:
1. Add Your Pets
You’ll be able to schedule a home visit for your pet with this option. To this end, please add your pet’s data on the following form, then click on ‘Next’:
If you logged in and added your pet previously, you’ll be able to skip this step.
2. Appointment Details
In this instance, you’ll be prompted to fill out the ‘Appointment Details’ for your home visit. You would need to fill out each of the steps that’ll be described below:
Step 1: Appointment type
Select an appointment type and then click on ‘Next’:
The appointment types are as follows:
- Comprehensive Exam: set up a full examination and diagnostics
- Puppy & Kitten Exam: set up proper treatment for puppies and kittens
- Euthanasia: set up an appointment for euthanasia
- Quality of Life Consult: set up and appointment for senior pets
- Health Certificates: set up proper health certificates for travel purposes
Step 2: Additional Reason
Select an additional reason for your home visit appointment then click on ‘Next: Select a Date’:
The additional reasons that you can select are as follows:
- My pet has a new illness/injury/problem: select one or more symptoms and input relevant info about it on the text field
- I’d like advice on my pet’s chronic medical condition: specify any relevant information on the text field
- This is a recheck recommended by a BetterVet doctor: provide any relevant information on the text field
- My pet was seen by another vet and we’d like a second opinion: all relevant info goes in the text field
- I don’t have any health concerns about my pet: specify your reason for your consult here
3. Select a Date and Time
You’ll now be prompted to select a date and time for the appointment, click on ‘Next’ afterwards:
4. Contact Details
Next up, you’d need to fill out your ‘Contact Details’, then click on ‘Next’:
If you logged in and added your contact details previously, you’ll be able to skip this step.
5. Review Details
If you have logged in previously, you can skip to ‘Book Appointment’. Otherwise, you would need to click on ‘Add Payment Method’ like so:
