What is the BetterVet Wellness Club?

BetterVet's Wellness Club is a membership-based wellness plan that helps manage all of your pet’s yearly preventative care needs with a simple schedule and predictable, interest-free monthly payments.

This pet wellness subscription is designed to make it easy for you to keep your pet up-to-date with the care they need throughout the year, keeping them healthy and happy in all stages of life. Being proactive about your pet’s preventative care protects them against diseases and catches the big things early, like illnesses and age and breed-related health conditions. 

Wellness Club Membership Tiers

BetterVet currently offers two membership plan tiers - Family and Premium. All plans give pet families access to best-in-class veterinary care and unlimited virtual vet visits for your peace of mind.

1. Family Membership Tier

Unlimited Virtual Vet Visits 

Family membership tiers include unlimited virtual vet visits and free travel fees for all of your household furry family members (dogs and cats). With a Family membership, you’ll have access to ongoing support from one of our licensed veterinarians as well as the most up-to-date expert resources and advice. What's more, we'll waive any travel fees on any in-home visits too! 

2. Premium Membership Tier

Unlimited Virtual Vet Visits + In-Home Visits + Unlimited FREE Travel

Our Premium membership tier is a comprehensive plan that includes unlimited virtual vet consultations, as well as annual wellness care AND lifestyle-specific services. Premium memberships include up to two (2) Wellness or Sick exams per plan year.

If your pet is a puppy or kitten at the time of signing up for this membership, a third visit will be included at no additional cost if needed to complete their vaccine series. We are now waiving travel fees for Premium members for all additional home visits beyond the two that are included in the plan.

Annual Pet Vaccinations

Premium memberships also cover your pet’s annual vaccinations. We follow the guidelines from the American Veterinary Medical Association and provide the "core" vaccines that are recommended for most dogs and cats based on their geographical location.

The core vaccines included in the Premium membership tier are:

• Rabies
• Distemper/Parvovirus
• Leptospirosis
• Bordetella* 
• Influenza* 
• Lyme (in appropriate regions)
• Feline Leukemia*
• Feline Distemper

* Lifestyle vaccination

Premium memberships tier also includes custom non-core “lifestyle” vaccinations for individual pets based on their activities, other pets or animals they may be in close contact with, and other factors. Our doctors will consider these factors to customize a vaccination program for optimal protection throughout your pet's life.

Routine Laboratory Screening

Premium memberships include routine laboratory screening, however, which screens are performed may vary depending on the pet and are at the discretion of your veterinarian. Your pet’s scheduled tests are based on your pet’s age, species, breed, etc., and the medical recommendations of your doctor. The routine laboratory tests included in your Premium membership are:

• Fecal
• Urinalysis
• Heartworm
• Adult and Young Adult Wellness Blood Panel
• Comprehensive Senior Blood Panel
• FIV/FeLV Testing

Puppies and Kittens

Puppies and kittens have unique needs, such as vaccinations and deworming, and for this reason, may need to be seen more frequently than adult dogs and cats. Wellness Club makes it easier to keep track of your puppy and kitten’s care and make sure that they continue to thrive. 

Senior Pets

Senior pets need to be seen more frequently than adult cats and dogs, and it is recommended that they be tested for certain age-related conditions. Your veterinarian will work with you to create a schedule that meets the needs of your senior pet during their golden years.

How Does the Wellness Club Work?

It’s easy! Just sign up either online or through our user-friendly app, available for both iOS and Android. Select the membership plan that best suits both your and your pet's needs. Once you enter your preferred credit card details, it will be automatically charged monthly from the day you make your purchase.

Is there a waiting period?

No, there is no waiting period. Your Wellness Club benefits will be available right away, however, it may take up to 24 hours for your personal pet center to reflect your membership plan.

What services are included?

As mentioned, both membership tiers include unlimited virtual vet consultations, while the Premium membership plan includes additional routine wellness care and lifestyle-specific services. If you sign up for a Family membership plan and wish to upgrade to Premium, we’ll be happy to help!

What is your policy regarding multiple pets?

With a Family membership, there are no additional fees for more than one pet in the household - all are included! Premium memberships do require that each pet have their own membership plan. 

How do I know when to schedule the services included in my plan?

As with all of our reminders, BetterVet will send you notifications of all of your pet’s upcoming preventative care needs and appointments to ensure that they stay up-to-date on routine checkups, vaccinations, as well as standard testing and treatment. 

My pet is sick, can I use my wellness club benefit?

Yes, you can. Any available services on your membership can be used for your pet regardless of their health status. In the case of a pet that is feeling ill, a sick visit would be considered to be one of the two comprehensive exams included in your membership. Remember that unlimited virtual vet appointments are also included in both membership levels, which is a great option if you still have questions or concerns after a home visit. 

Can I access my premium membership services when I’m traveling? 

You can access virtual vet visits from anywhere, but if you are planning to schedule a home visit while traveling you'll want to make sure that BetterVet services the area where you are visiting. Remember to change the home address associated with your account before booking the appointment, so our veterinary team knows where to find you and your pet.
