Mary Kay
Love to play and help fur babies!
I've owned, loved and cared for dogs of all shapes, sizes, and personalities throughout my life including my most recently beloved boxer. Each dog is unique and I love getting to know their personality and adapt to their needs and the environment they are being cared for. Over the last few years I've developed a reputation of trustworthiness and reliability in caring for homes and pets of friends, neighbors and relatives while they travel. I want you to feel comfortable that your pet gets the attention they would normally get and you can enjoy yourself knowing someone who cares and can attend to their needs is handling them. I'm flexible with your needs and the needs of your pet and look forward to helping out on the best way that I can.

That Is So Fetch! And run and play!
Hello! My name is Jeannette. All my life I've been an animal lover, and for a little over 20-some years, owner. As a self-employed-at-home worker I couldn't think of a better way to keep busy and make a new friend. Does your fur baby require my belly rubbing magic? Maybe some serious butt scratching? How about some good ole fashioned pooch patience? Well, it would be my treat to sit, walk or board your favorite furball. As a pet owner, I understand the concerns that come with entrusting someone new. So, if you need to ask a bazillion questions, Skype, drop-in, or need more pics and videos than your phone can handle - I hear ya, and I'm here for ya! I want you, as much as your furry family member, to feel comfortable. ***WARNING: Michigan weather can be feisty, but I'm fiestier. So come rain, shine or the occasional snowfall, there's a high probability of getting wet, muddy and silly! In the case of being snowed in - or even a midnight wee - there's doggie grass on the balcony.

Randi
My goal : Caring for your pet.
Hi, I'm Randi. I've always loved animals and I've spent most of my life studying their behavior, I believe in the importance of regularly walking dogs as a daily source of exercise for their physical health as well as their emotional well being. Playtime attention from someone who feels they matter is part of responsible pet care, and I would love to assist with any part of providing conscientious care for your pet. Services may also include grooming care transportation to and from as needed. The service I offer is tempered to fit the particular dog I am caring for; old to young, from the most difficult to the friendliest. I am the person you can trust with your pet, and I'm ready to walk in any kind of weather, or show up at your home for quick potty runs and a feeding at the last minute on a hectic day when an unexpected delay should arise. Don't hesitate to call, I've got you covered . My availability changes depending on my schedule, please inquire. I teach in the Fall and Winter season during which time I'm available in the afternoon after 3:00pm. Always available on weekends. I do drop in appointments which usually always include walks and playtime, generally feeding and overnight stays. My service varies according to what my clients need in order for their pet to feel comfortable.

Jack
PhD Student and Friend of Doggos
Hi my name is Jack Bishop, I'm a first year PhD student at Wayne State University studying Genetics and Genomic Sciences. I've offered my services on Rover on and off for the last 8 years and have thoroughly enjoyed every encounter and memory I've made with the furry creatures who come through my door. I've been privileged with the companionship of dogs all my life and as a result, I understand the crucial role they play in the lives of their owners. For that reason, I treat each and every animal placed under my care like my own pet. The opportunity to care for a wide variety of different dogs and dog breeds is the reason I love to work for Rover. Each and every one of their personalities is so distinct and unique. I live by myself in 2 bedroom apartment located near Brush Park in Detroit, MI (across the street from little caesars arena). On any given day, I'm in class for 1-3 hours. Otherwise, you can usually find me back home either studying or playing guitar. If you find yourself in need of exceptional dog care/hospitality or even if you'd like to have someone stop by to check in on your pup, feed them or take them for a walk, please do not hesitate to message me. As a PhD student, much of my time will be occupied by online courses with the occasional trip to campus. My schedule allows for sufficient interaction with any and all dogs placed under my care. I have a 1200 square foot apartment with a fenced in back yard that I can use to exercise dogs. Beyond this, I am an avid runner who is keen to run dogs provided permission from the owner.

This med student loves dogs!
Please read all the way to the end before requesting services :) I'm a recent med school grad living in downtown Detroit who loves to care for dogs! I have two energetic pits of my own, and have experience caring for and walking many high energy breeds (pits, Australian and German Shepherds, and many lovable mystery mutts). I will be sure to listen to your needs and concerns to avoid undoing training, etc. (if you don't let the dog do x y or z on a walk, I won't either!) I know how it feels to worry about your dog when you're at school or work all day. Let me give you peace of mind knowing your good boy or girl is exercised and happy! Due to my medical training schedule, my availability changes weekly. Because of this, I am very discerning with what dogs I take during which weeks. For example, I will not take new dogs during a very busy rotation because it isn't fair to the pups. My schedule varies so we will discuss if your dog is a good fit before booking. When I'm off, I'm a huge homebody, and spend the day spoiling the pups. We spend a lot of supervised playtime in the backyard and enjoy at least one walk a day, weather permitting. My own boy has severe food allergies, so I always verify food allergens or sensitivities with clients. I communicate with the dog's owners and send tons of photos to make sure everybody is happy!

Faith
Detroit's choice for pet sitting!
I grew up with all sorts of animals, from hermit crabs to dogs and cats. I always enjoyed taking care of them and discovering their personalities. In high school I fostered my love for animals with my passion for service by volunteering at the humane society for 2 years taking care of dogs and cats looking for homes. I'm currently a student, half of my days I am in class. The other half I'm looking forward to spending with fun and energetic pets. Safety and assurance is paramount to being a great pet sitter. Maintaining an open line of communication is one of the most important things, as well as strictly adhering to any diets, litter types, or other needs your pet may have.

Marissa
Corktown's premier dog-walker!
As a long-time volunteer for Michigan Humane as a dog-walker and foster home, I am comfortable working with animals of all shapes and sizes! I have fostered dozens of animals over the years, and am comfortable administering medication as well as patiently building trust with more fearful pets. Breaking up the day with a walk is a great way to provide your dog with enrichment, while reducing the accidents and improving overall behavior. Let me reinforce your dog's training with a midday walk and enrichment session. I can't wait to become buddies! I work from home and generally plan my appointments and meetings several days in advance. Please reach out to me with at least 2 day's notice so that I can ensure that my schedule can accommodate your needs. I live in Corktown, walking distance to the Detroit Dog Park which is often empty and can be an ideal place for sniffing even if your dog is not a dogpark dog! I have several walking routes to provide a variety of types stimulation depending on your dog's comfort level with traffic noises, other dogs, pedestrians and wildlife. My goal is to build your dog's confidence in neighborhood settings, while giving them an opportunity to burn off a little energy before you get home from work.

One walk a day keeps the vet away!
I grew up with a big, goofy and clumsy black lab and my roommate in college bought a Goldendoodle puppy that I had the pleasure of helping raise! I enjoy nothing more than taking care of a good pup and giving him/her the attention they need! Since I can't afford my own yet this is the next best thing! I currently work full-time, but I am remote, working from home so my hours are flexible and allow for me to step away for walks when needed, allowing me to take good care of your pups! Also, very free on the weekends allowing for lots of attention then! I am single and live alone so lots of free time available to give your pets the time and attention they deserve! While I do live in an apartment complex, there is a large grass field one block away. This is a great area to play fetch with your pupper! In the apartment there is plenty of space for your furry fellow as it is just me here!

Just a guy who loves caring for dog
I've been taking care of dogs for all my life. I know all dogs are unique and the needs and requirements vary from dog to dog. I am good at picking up behaviors/mannerisms , and learning a dog. Which allows me to better care for each individual dog. I'm an entrepreneur who does car rentals and Airbnb. Being that I don't work a traditional 9-5 that requires much of a persons day, pet care fits perfectly into my daily routine. I live in a very dog friendly neighborhood, with a tall, secure, wooden fence. I also have three well trained dogs to keep your fur baby company. Your fur baby will rest the night away in my warm and cozy finished basement alongside my own dogs.

I'll never forget a dog's name
I've always had animals including horses, pigs, dogs, fish, chickens, ducks, goats, and cats etc. I love being around animals and I care about making them comfortable and happy. I've trained my dog to sit, fetch, stay, come, go to bed, leave it, and many other commands. If there are specific commands you have been working on with your pup I'd be happy to learn those while your fur baby is with me. I enjoy ...
